Bob & Michele Rawlins spent their time delivering kindness hampers across Perth for several weeks in May. These hampers were for cancer patients who were in strict isolation.
The idea came about when Innovations Catering and Soul Gestures came together wanting to support the community. They reached out to a network of Perth local businesses to get involved with ‘The Kindness Delivery’ project.
Filled with goodies like pre-made dinners and floral bouquets, provided by Innaloo Florist, our aim was to help ease the isolation these patients would have been feeling during COVID-19.
Soul Gestures included supportive letters written by children whose families had been affected by cancer, bringing smiles to patients who needed to be shown a little love and kindness.
Innovations Catering eased some of the burden by offering a range of their yummy pre-made dinners delivered to many of the staff and patients of Chemo At Home.
The Roc Shop kindly donated an array of colourful sweets.
Other Perth local businesses such as Connonlly & Associates and Total Tint Solutions, generously donated towards the kindness hamper to make it even bigger and better.
We were proud to be a part of spreading ‘kindness’ in our local community, giving back to people who needed it most.
We would like to say a BIG thank you to all the local Perth businesses involved especially since most are also in need of support during this time. Your generosity spread much happiness to who people who needed it.
We have received so many lovely cards of thanks which just made the experience all worthwhile.
