Over the past 16 years, the team at Innovations Catering have developed a highly regarded catering company with over 16,000 completed jobs under our belt.
It all began when we bought the fledgling company back in October 2004, heading into a frantic Christmas season that began with two 700 sit-down dinners for school graduations. Over the years since then, we have orchestrated degustation dinner parties for 2 along the South Perth foreshore to three-course sit down dinners for over 700, and catering for a function for over 1000 people by creating various food stalls … We can cater for all styles of functions!
We have travelled to Yanchep in the North, to Kalgoorlie in the East, to Rotto in the West, and to Denmark in the South. We have overcome some challenges along the way; working out of clients’ sheds in the middle of 100 acres in the rain; setting up “kitchens” for the Kalgoorlie Cup in marquees; working on charter boats that have kitchens the size of a sixpence; power being blown; a falling ceiling; floods (twice in one day!); and many other memorable moments.
Bob’s favourite menu meals are his 7-course degustation dinners inspired from his “Stages” in the world’s top restaurants; Alinea in Chicago, Quay Restaurant in Sydney, Sidart in Auckland, and Gastro Park in Sydney. In addition, eating at some of the world’s best restaurants – Alinea’s pop-up restaurant in Madrid, Tickets in Barcelona in 2015 and Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck Restaurant in Maidenhead, UK in 2018, has added to his inspiration that has created amazing menu choices.
We are a very friendly ‘family’ business and have been fortunate to have such dedicated team members over the years. Our team of fantastic function co-ordinators, some of which (Jeanette) have been with us from the start. Others have come and gone but remained with us for many years and are still remembered fondly (many of you will remember Melissa). Not to mention our most recent function co-ordinator Tammy who has been with us now, for just over 2 years. She was thrown in the deep end with a sit down corporate function for 220 in her first 2 weeks and is still here to tell the tale! Our Chefs of course, Bob and Keith. Keith has also been with us for the past 14 years and has seen many apprentices come through our kitchen, including Chev who is now in her last year apprenticeship and has learned many skills to see her into the future. We also have a large contingent of waitstaff, some of which have also been here for 16 years. We are one big happy family!
A big thank you to our suppliers that have supported us over the 16 years, many of whom have supplied goods and services to us from the start.
And last by not least, we would like to thank all of the many clients that have supported us over the years, some of whom we have been serving up our delicious food for over 10 years. We would not have made it this far without you. We’ve enjoyed the interesting venues, intriguing people and challenging food requests. Thank you for the ride!
